Actress Viscella Richards has been found dead in her Caribbean residence.
The British actress, known professionally as Vikki Richards, was discovered with her hands tied, in her bedroom in North Valsyn, north of Trinidad on March 6.
Reports suggest robbers killed the 79-year-old TV personality during a robbery at her home.
The Police report that there was no additional signs of physical harm on her body.
Richards was renowned for her supporting role in Black Snake, a 1973 British film filmed in Barbados. Starting on stage, she later starred in The Onedin Line, Return of the Saint, and Howard’s Way on TV.
Investigators are probing the discovery of her body on the bedroom floor of her home near Port of Spain after being found by a carer last week.
A friend found her body after she couldn’t be reached since Tuesday evening, March 5.
The woman reached the house and discovered the front gate was shut.
She loudly called for Richards several times upon finding the open door and stumbled upon the body while searching for the elderly woman inside the house, according to The Sun.
Sir Timothy Cassel KC, a barrister and friend of Richards opines that someone was allowed inside by her as the gate and door were both open when she was discovered.
“Whether she knew them or not, or whether they manipulated her vulnerability, who knows? It’s terribly sad.”
