Okemute Sure of More Wins on the Road for 3SC
Experienced Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan shot stopper, Okemute Odah, believes the Ibadan soccer lords are good enough to pick more wins away from home.
It’s been a resurgent Shooting Stars since the second round of the NPFL 23/24 season started, with the team garnering 20 points from the possible 30, scoring 15 goals and conceding just five.
The Oluyole Warriors have secured maximum points twice away from home, having beaten Doma United and Kano Pillars 1-0 and 2-1 respectively.
Speaking moments after the victory over Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium, the soft spoken former Al Ain of Saudi Arabia goalie, expressed optimism that his side would still claim at least two away victories before the season climaxes.
“This is not the end of our celebration away from home. I’m sure we are still going to win more matches, at least two out of our remaining games on the road”, said the former Warri Wolves, Rivers United and Lobi Stars FC goalkeeper, who has been instrumental to the team’s good run si far.
Okemute, a member of the Super Eagles home- based squad to the 2016 African Nation Championship held in Rwanda, will hope to extend his clean shot on home turf to six when the high riding Shooting Stars face his former club, Lobi Stars in a matchday 30 fixture billed for Sunday evening at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex.
