THE Agbaakin Olorunda Abaa and Mayegun of Akoboland, Chief Benedict Akika, has donated a borehole facility to the Nigeria Beauticians/Hairdressers Association (NBHA) Oyo State chapter at the association’s headquarters in Oluyole Local Government Area of the state.
Akika was said to have made the promise last year during the association’s annual hair/body exhibition held at the Cultural Centre, Mokola, Ibadan.
President of the association in the state, Mrs. Toyin Oladapo, commended Chief Akika for his integrity and reliability, unlike those who often make empty promises.
She expressed the association’s appreciation for Akika’s support, emphasising his consistency in delivering on promises.
She said: “Chief Akika has proven on many occasions that he is not like others who go about promising what they cannot fulfill.
“We have come across politicians who promised us series of things and failed to deliver. At our annual hair/body exhibition last year, Akika promised to give us a generating set, which he handed over to us immediately.
“Afterward, he promised to give us a borehole and now he has fulfilled it too.
“On behalf of the association, I pray that God continues to bless him and grants all his heart desires.”
In his remarks, Chief Akika reaffirmed his dedication to uplifting the people of the state.
He said: “You shouldn’t make promises that you won’t fulfill to people because it is not conducive to our environmental and political development.
“I made the promise last year to sink a borehole for the association and I have fulfilled it today. I will continue to do more for the development of our state.”
