Pastor Ayodele Oritsejafor, the former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), recently shared a powerful testimony of how he miraculously survived a battle with cancer.
During one of his church programmes, titled Manna with Papa Ayo, and in a post on his social media, Pastor Oritsejafor recounted his experience, highlighting the gravity of his condition and the divine intervention he believes saved his life.
He began by narrating that, as he was preparing to leave for America for medical treatment, a close acquaintance was travelling to the United Kingdom with the same type of aggressive cancer.
Tragically, while Pastor Oritsejafor survived, his acquaintance did not, returning to Nigeria in a casket.
In his own words, Pastor Oritsejafor said, “How do you face cancer and still stand like this? But I have not told you when I was going to America full of cancer, you did not know, I did not tell you. I look normal because this is my way of life.”
He emphasised the gravity of the situation by recalling how he walked onto the plane to America while his acquaintance was already too weak to do so.
Reflecting on his survival, he expressed deep gratitude to God, acknowledging that his survival wasn’t due to being better than others but because God remembered him and his devotion.
“I told God, ‘If you save me from this, I would double my service, I would serve you twice more.’ God saved me and brought me home,” he said.
Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor is the founder and Senior Pastor of Word of Life Bible Church.
