Recently, Hon. Commissioner Akin-Funmilayo Williams, representing Gov. Seyi Makinde FNSE, visited the site of a tragic building collapse in Oyo State. He noted that the structure had shown clear signs of distress prior to the incident.
He said, “To prevent future occurrences, the governor has introduced a “Building Amnesty” program, allowing owners of existing structures to secure approvals for buildings in need of urgent inspection and reinforcement”.
Additionally, the state will soon roll out integrity tests for buildings across Oyo to ensure safety standards are met.
