The rumor about the death of the chairman and chief executive officer of Glo Communication, Dr. Mike Adenuga, has been dispelled by the
Publisher of Ovation Magazine, Chief Dele Momodu.
According to the Ovation Magazine publisher,
multi-billionaire Dr Mike Adenuga is alive, hale, and hearty, and urged Nigerians to ignore the fake news.
Also, a top management source within the business establishments of Mike Adenuga, declared that he is alive.
The disclosure was coming on the heels of a report on social media Tuesday evening that the 71-year-old oil mogul and owner of Globacom has passed on.
“The Spirit of Africa DR MICHAEL ADENIYI AGBOLADE ISOLA ADENUGA is hale and hearty. He’s right now at his desk working round the clock in support of the Nigerian economy… He just called me to thank everyone for their concern…”
The source within the Adenuga business conglomerate further disclosed that he and some others recently had a conversation with Adenuga, popularly called the Pride of Africa, even as claims of his demise rages in social media.
“The rumored death of Dr. Mike Adenuga is a lie from the pit of hell. No such thing happened. The chairman is alive and well,” said the source.
The source further said he and some others just spoke with the chairman of Globacom, the telecom company making many families happy this season with the Glo Festival of Joy Promo.
Dr Mike Adenuga, whose net worth was put at $6.7 billion as of 19 November 2024, is reputed to be the second richest Nigerian.
He built his fortunes in banking, telecom, and oil production. His mobile phone company, Globacom, is the second largest telecom operator in Nigeria, with subscribers of over 60 million.
Globacom also built Glo-1, a 6,100-mile-long submarine Internet cable to the U.K. via Ghana and Portugal, while his oil exploration outfit, Conoil Producing, operates six oil blocks in the Niger Delta.
