Theophilus Olawoyin Becomes Oyo State NANTS Acting Chairman, Pens Heartfelt Appreciations

In a momentous development, Chief Theophilus Olawoyin Layi has been appointed as the Acting Chairman of the Oyo State chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS). The accomplished leader, who hails from the illustrious Asipa Ayelabowo House in Igbeti, expressed his gratitude to those who supported his journey and pledged to uphold the values of the association.

Born on June 26, 1958, to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Olawoyin, Theophilus Olawoyin has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication throughout his career. He began his educational journey at St. Paul Anglican Primary School, Igbeti (1963-1968), before proceeding to UMCA Secondary Grammar School, Igbeti (1975-1980). He later attended Divisional Teachers College, Saki, where he earned his teaching qualifications in 1982.

Olawoyin’s professional career began on October 1, 1982, as a class teacher with the Oyo State government. Over the years, he rose through the ranks to become a headmaster, retiring on October 1, 2017, on Level 14, Step 7.

His contributions extend beyond education. As the Chairman of the Lafun Producers Association of Nigeria, Olorunsogo Igbeti Branch, and the elected Babaloja General of Olorunsogo Igbeti since August 16, 2021, Olawoyin has been a staunch advocate for traders and market stakeholders. Currently, he serves as the Director of Olatundun Drinks and Beverage as well as Fowotade Trading Store in Igbeti.

Olawoyin expressed heartfelt appreciation to Alhaji Danjuma for introducing him to NANTS, crediting his leadership journey to the unwavering support of many individuals. He also thanked YEYE Odunayo Kayode Danjuma and Chief Tijani Jimoh Danjuma for their mentorship and guidance.

In his message of gratitude, Olawoyin acknowledged several key figures for their encouragement, including Aare Igbeti Toro of Igbeti Land and Oke Ogun, Chief Tunde Ayandele (Zonal Coordinator, Ibarapa Zone), Alhaja Chief Nusirat Adediran (Zonal Coordinator, Oke Ogun 1), Alhaji D. Rasaki (Zonal Coordinator, Oke Ogun 2), Chief Olaore, and YEYE Amudalat Adeleke (Zonal Coordinator, Oyo Alaafin).

He also extended his appreciation to Chief Taiwo Awe (Coordinator, Afijio Land) and Alhaji Nurudeen Oseni (Coordinator, Ibadan Metropolis) for their continuous support, as well as all members of NANTS in Oyo State for their trust and collaboration.

As the Acting Chairman, Olawoyin pledged to promote unity and inclusivity among traders and marketers in Oyo State, ensuring that the association remains a powerful voice for its members.

“I am deeply humbled and honored by this opportunity to serve. Together, we will achieve great strides for the benefit of all traders and entrepreneurs in Oyo State,” he stated.

With decades of experience and a proven track record of leadership, Theophilus Olawoyin is poised to steer the Oyo State chapter of NANTS towards greater achievements.
