November last year, I went to Item7 for the first time. The one at Ring road, Ibadan.
At first I thought the place usually get so crowded and spaces filled up that people would not be able to book a table and have to queue and this was the opinion that kept me away from going there since I heard about the launch of the restaurant in Ibadan.
We got there and I soon noticed it was actually without a walk-in space. They strictly do takeout and that made the queue understandable.
I stood around the bench area and then strolled up to their pricelist to check it. Reasonable prices. The queue moved fast too.
We ordered 3 plates and two wraps of Shawarma. 2 plates with chicken, one with croaker fish and 2 beef Shawarma.
Their rice is one of the top best I have tasted so far. And trust me, I don try for this Ibadan. The quantity is not be too.
Its not the usual over-seasoned foods and proteins served in most restaurants at ridiculous prices.
Their food gave me a party jollof vibe and more.
You know the type prepared under the supervision of that hardly impressed sister-in-law who is a retired caterer. You have to get everything right.
So yeah. If you’re looking for nice budget friendly rice dishes.I recommend them 10/10
