As Nigeria marks the 2025 International Workers’ Day, the Honourable Member representing Ibadan Northwest State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Dawood Akanni Olalere, has extended warm felicitations to the hardworking men and women across Oyo State.
Dr. Olalere, in a statement issued on May 1, 2025, praised the unwavering commitment and resilience of Oyo workers despite the economic challenges confronting the nation — including insecurity, subsidy removal, and inflationary pressures. He emphasized that the contributions of workers continue to be instrumental in the growth and stability of the state.
“I celebrate the dedication and tireless efforts of our workers across all sectors — public and private — who, in the face of adversity, have remained steadfast in their duties. Your sacrifices have not gone unnoticed,” he stated.

Hon. Olalere also commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his consistent implementation of worker-friendly policies that have made Oyo State a model of progressive governance over the last six years.

“As a representative of the people, I deeply appreciate the support you have shown towards Governor Makinde’s administration. It is through your collaboration and hard work that we have been able to maintain peace, promote development, and improve lives in our dear state,” he added.

He concluded by urging workers to remain proud of their roles and to continue supporting efforts that advance the common good of the state. “May this celebration renew your strength and inspire greater dedication to building a better Oyo State.”
