Over 1,400 Athletes Participate in 2025 NYFA Amender Marathon organized by Mr. Ahmed Kayode Abdulwahab in Ibadan

Ibadan, Oyo State

The 2025 edition of the NYFA Amender Marathon Run, organized under the leadership of Mr. Ahmed Kayode Abdulwahab on April 26th, 2025, was successfully held in Ibadan, Oyo State, drawing an impressive turnout of 1,400 participants across the 10km and 3km race categories.

The 10km race kicked off from Orogun Junction along the University of Ibadan road, while the 3km secondary school category began at WAEC Junction in Ijokodo. Both races concluded at Oba Abass Aleshinloye Junior School, Benjamin, Eleyele, Ibadan.

Winners of the 10km Race (Men’s Category):

1. Mohammed Nuhu Ayomide (Ogun State) clinched first place with a time of 35 minutes 34 seconds.
2. Jacob Uham finished second.
3. Mohammed Abdulmojeed (Oyo State) came in third.

Winners of the 10km Race (Women’s Category):

1. Adesanya Dorcas emerged champion.
2. Dudulewa Christiana secured second place.
3. Mariam Hassan completed the top three.

3km Secondary School Race (Boys Category):

1. Akeem Waris won with a time of 20 minutes.
2. Kazeem Adigun followed closely with 21 minutes.
3. Emmanuel Godsent took third with 21 minutes 45 seconds.

Cash prizes were awarded to winners in all categories, recognizing their exceptional performances and encouraging youth participation in athletics.

Special appreciation goes to
President of NYFA, Prof Gold CW Emmanuel for her advice and encouragement for hosting the annual marathon run.

Also, sincere appreciation was extended to the CEO of Solat Telecom, Alhaji Abdulhammed Abdulganiyu, for his substantial support towards the marathon. Acknowledgment also went to Hon. Abayomi Fagberon Bibire and Hon. Ibrahim Salami Dikko for their valuable contributions.

A heartwarming highlight of the event was the participation of the youngest athlete, Abegunde Nemetres Mary, a 4-year-old girl from Oyo, who joined the fun run and inspired many with her spirit.

The NYFA Amender Marathon continues to grow in scale and impact, promoting health, sportsmanship, and community engagement in Oyo State and beyond.
