Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State says the state will leave no stone unturned to champion its transformative efforts in strengthening its agribusiness sector as the world battles with climate change.
Speaking at the 2025 WUWM Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Thursday on the critical topic, “Global Agriculture Value Chain Landscape and the Impact of Climate Change” Governor Makinde unveiled Oyo State’s strategic initiatives to enhance the agricultural value chain.
He also outlined his administration’s commitment to establishing International Agribusiness Wholesale Markets to support local farmers and integrate Oyo State into global markets, and emphasised the importance of global collaboration in addressing food security and sustainability.
Makinde also harped on policies and projects that promote sustainable farming, improve trade routes, and boost regional connectivity, adding that those efforts are in line with the state’s bigger vision of fostering economic growth and resilience in the face of environmental challenges.

The Governor also shed more light on how Oyo State is mitigating the impact of climate change through innovative practices, including climate-smart agriculture and enhanced supply chain efficiencies.
