The girls of Onireke High School, Ibadan, have emerged victorious in the Western Conference of the 2025 Nestlé Milo School Basketball Championship, securing their place at the highly anticipated National Finals.
The team triumphed in the girls’ category during the regional conference held in Ibadan and will now represent Oyo State at the National Finals scheduled to take place from June 20 to June 27, 2025, at the Indoor Sports Hall, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
This outstanding achievement is widely attributed to the impact of the free education policy and ongoing sports development efforts of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State. Under his leadership, schools across the state have received renewed support, enabling students to thrive both academically and athletically.

The upcoming national championship in Lagos will provide a valuable platform for the students to demonstrate their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship on a larger stage.

As the tournament draws start, anticipation is high across the state, with supporters calling for prayers and rallying behind the team, hopeful that Oyo will shine brightly once again.
