Chioma Rowland, the wife of Davido, the Afrobeats singer, has opened up on why she agreed to marry him.
In a recent interview on NoireTV, Chioma said her decision was influenced by Davido’s genuine concern for her “personal dreams and ambitions”.
“I would say David, like, actually cares about my dreams, right? I have faced many challenges over time, but he would always ask me, Chi, apart from all of this, what do you want to do?” she said.

“And then we have plans, and we have stuff, like, coming out in the next few, I’ll say months, so, like, next year. So, he really cares about my personal life, my personal dreams, and things that I actually want to do outside of being his wife and a mother to his kids.”

Davido proposed to Chioma in 2019, but their relationship faced challenges in 2021 amid allegations that the singer was involved in another relationship.

The couple lost Ifeanyi, their first child together, on October 30, 2022.
However, in March 2023, the singer disclosed that he and Chioma had officially married.
The couple welcomed twins in the US in October 2023. They held their traditional wedding in June 2024.
Earlier this week, Davido and Chioma arrived in Florida via a private jet adorned with welcome flowers and a chair labeled ‘MRS’ for the white wedding.
The singer also dropped hints about the wedding’s Miami location.
Davido recently revealed that the highly anticipated white wedding cost over $3.7 million.
