AARE MUSULUMI OF IBADAN NORTHWEST: Hon. (Dr) Dawood Akanni Olalere Appreciates Dignitaries, Religious Leaders, and Well-Wishers

Alhaji (Hon) Dr. Dawood Akanni Olalere, popularly known as D-Al-Ameen representing Ibadan NorthWest State Constituency at the 10th Oyo State House of Assembly has expressed heartfelt appreciation to Almighty Allah and to all dignitaries, Islamic clerics, traditional rulers, political leaders, and community stakeholders who honoured his installation as the Aare Musulumi of Ibadan NorthWest Local Government.

The historic Turbaning and Award Ceremony, organized by the League of Imams and Alfas, Ibadan NorthWest Local Government in conjunction with the Muslim community, was held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, and drew a distinguished array of personalities from across Oyo State and beyond.

In his message of appreciation, D-Al-Ameen specially acknowledged His Excellency, Alhaji (Barr.) Abdulraheem Adebayo Lawal, the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, and Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly & Chairman, Conference of Speakers of Nigeria, as well as members of the 10th Oyo State House of Assembly, Commissioners, Board Chairmen, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Executive Assistants who graced the occasion.

He extended his gratitude to the League of Imams and Alfas, led by the Grand Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheik AbdulGaniy Abubakri Agbotomokekere; the Coordinator General, Joint Eleven League of Imams & Alfas Local Government, Khaleefah Qosim Adepoju Muhammed (JP); the Chairman, League of Imams & Alfas, Ibadan NorthWest, Alhaji Imam Abdullahi AbdulAzeez Adepoju; and Imam Sakirullahi Mogaji Abata, Chief Imam of Agbaje Central Mosque, who delivered a lecture on the theme “Roles of Muslims in Islam.”

The event also featured the presence of top Islamic and community leaders including Alhaji Daud Makanjuola Akinola (De-Damak), Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo & Delta States, who was the Most Distinguished Guest of Honour; Alhaji Mutiulahi AbdulAzeez Oladeji, Asiwaju Adeen of Oyo State, who served as Host; Alhaji Chief Nureni Akanbi (Arole Iba), Babaisale Musulumi of Ibadanland, Chief Father of the Day; and Oba Tajudeen Abimbola Ajibola, Royal Father of the Day.

Other distinguished roles included Alhaji Abdulwasiu Adewumi Adeleke PDP State Secretary, Alhaji (Hon) AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju, Executive Chairman of Ibadan NorthWest LG, Chief Host; Barrister AbdulKaeem Adedeji Agbaje, Chairman of the Day; Alhaja Modinat Abosede Adedibu, Mother of the Day; and Alhaja Rahmat Iyabo Wuraola Adepoju JP, Chairperson of the Day.

D-Al-Ameen appreciated the presence of Barr. Iyiola Oladokun (Former Deputy Governor of Oyo State), Hon. Saheed Fijabi, and Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi (Okanlomo of Ibadanland) Rt. Hon. Stanley Olajide Odidi-Omo Federal House of Assembly Member Representing Ibadan Northwest and Southwest State Constituency, as Distinguished Guests of Honour.

Also present as Special Guests of Honour were Chief Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke FCA (Chairman, Solutions 93.9 FM & Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland), Chief Ismail Akinade Kilanko Fijabi (Agba’Akin of Ibadanland), Chief Benedict Akika (Agba’Akin Olorunda), Alhaji AbdulGaniy Omotosho (Vice Chairman, Ibadan NorthWest LG), Hon. Abiodun Ikumogunniyi Asukuna, Hon. Hon. D-Al-Ameen also recognized Hon. Kehinde Akande (Chairman Ibadan Southwest Local Government), Hon. He lauded the commitment of the Central Planning Committee and the League of Imams & Alfas Programme Committee, as well as the dedicated members of the SoroSoke Group of D-Al-Ameen (Elders, Ladies, Media & Security), whose tireless efforts ensured the success of the epoch-making ceremony.

D-Al-Ameen concluded his appreciation by pledging continued service to Islam, humanity, and the people of Ibadan NorthWest, praying that Almighty Allah bless and reward everyone abundantly for their love, prayers, and support during his installation as Aare Musulumi.
