The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday recorded a peaceful and successful Local Government Congress at the Itesiwaju Local Government Secretariat, where party leaders and members came together to elect executives who will steer the affairs of the party for the new tenure.

In a unanimous decision, delegates agreed on the elongation of the tenure of the incumbent chairman, Hon. Owolabi Owoyemi Ganiyu, alongside other executive members. The process also saw the inclusion of new faces to further strengthen and ensure the smooth running of the party’s activities in the local government.

Party stakeholders described the congress as another clear demonstration of PDP’s commitment to peace and internal democracy.

The event was well attended by notable party leaders, including the Executive Chairman of Itesiwaju Local Government, Hon. Ojo Monsur Olayemi, and his Vice Chairman, Hon. Peter Ayangbade, among others. Representatives of security agencies and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were also present to monitor proceedings.

The newly affirmed executives were congratulated and wished a successful tenure as they continue to lead the party at the grassroots level.
