Shooting Stars Secure First NPFL Win With 2-1 Victory Over Kun Khalifat
Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan recorded their first victory of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Kun Khalifat FC at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, on Sunday.
Despite their shaky start to the campaign, fans turned out in large numbers to cheer the Oluyole Warriors, and they were rewarded with a spirited performance.
Captain Gani Falke set the tone early, putting Shooting Stars ahead in the 6th minute of the first half. The momentum continued shortly after the restart as Sodiq Ibrahim doubled the lead in the 49th minute, sparking wild celebrations among the home supporters.
Kun Khalifat, however, refused to go down without a fight and pulled one back in the 76th minute to keep the tension alive. But 3SC held on firmly to secure all three points.
The game highlighted signs of steady improvement and growing team cohesion under the guidance of Coach Aweroro, raising fans’ hopes for a better run in the league.
