The maiden edition of the Community Day Celebration tagged “Itura Ipinle Oyo” was held at Onireke, Ibadan NorthWest Local Government, with notable leaders and residents in attendance. The event was organized by the Community Development Council (CDC) of the constituency, led by Elder J.K. Dunmore.
Aare (Hon.) Dr. Dawood Olalere D-Al-Ameen, Member representing Ibadan NorthWest State Constituency and Aare Musulumi of the local government, graced the occasion as Chairman of the Day.
In his goodwill message, Hon. Olalere expressed appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde for his resourceful leadership and commitment to creating more job opportunities for the youth. He also commended the CDC executives for their dedication to peace, unity, and the advancement of grassroots development programs.
Highlighting the significance of the newly introduced Garri Processing and Packaging project, Hon. Olalere described it as a laudable community-driven initiative that would empower women and adult youths with both farming and non-farming skills, creating avenues for sustainable employment.
He further charged community development associations to safeguard government projects within their communities, stressing that such initiatives are for the collective benefit of the people.
As part of his contribution, Hon. Olalere announced a substantial financial donation in support of the Garri Processing and Packaging project, wishing the CDC success in its implementation.
The event underscored the importance of community collaboration, with participants reaffirming their commitment to grassroots development in Ibadan NorthWest Local Government.
