Shooting Stars Edge Plateau United in Dramatic Late Victory
It was a tense and thrilling encounter at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Sunday as Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Plateau United in their NPFL26 Matchday 7 clash.
The Oluyole Warriors dominated possession for most of the game, pressing high and controlling play, but struggled to convert their chances into goals. Despite their attacking intent, the first 70 minutes produced no breakthrough, keeping fans on edge.
In the 72nd minute, head coach introduced Ismail Ayodele in place of Promise, a tactical change that proved decisive. Ayodele’s energy and creativity immediately changed the rhythm of the game, giving Shooting Stars renewed attacking momentum.
After regulation time ended goalless, eight minutes of added time were announced. The home crowd erupted in the 94th minute when Ismail Ayodele struck brilliantly to find the back of the net — sealing a dramatic late winner for 3SC.
With the victory, Shooting Stars continued their impressive home form and extended their positive start to the NPFL26 season.
