VIDEO: No Asiwaju Cap, No Entry: Okpebholo’s New Rule for Edo Commissioners

.

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has issued a strict directive to members of his cabinet, warning that any commissioner who fails to wear the ‘Asiwaju cap’,a symbolic cap associated with President Bola Tinubu will not be allowed into the weekly Executive Council meetings.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed commissioners and members of various boards, Okpebholo emphasized that loyalty to leadership must reflect not just in words but also in appearance.

“If you don’t wear the Asiwaju cap, you won’t sit in my Executive Council meeting,” the governor declared, adding that he “will not forgive” any commissioner who flouts the order.

The directive, which has since stirred political conversations across the state, is seen as part of Okpebholo’s effort to demonstrate visible allegiance to President Tinubu and to strengthen unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State ahead of the next electoral cycle.
