Answering the call to serve his nation, Ajibade joined the Nigeria Immigration Service in 1996 and worked in the Sports Section for ten productive years (1996–2006). His voluntary resignation after a decade was driven by a deeper desire—to further his education and devote himself more directly to community progress.

With a passion for good governance and public service, Hon. Ajibade proceeded to earn a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Political Science from the prestigious Bayero University, Kano.
