Hon. Saminu Riliwan Gbadamosi JP Wale Canada, a prominent lawmaker in Oyo State, has expressed his satisfaction in the performance of Oyo State governor. He also expressed his strong belief that if Governor Seyi Makinde is granted another term, Oyo State could surpass several other states, even in developed countries, in terms of infrastructure and development. Hence, pray for an excellent performer to succeed as the governor of Oyo State.
Hon. Wale Canada, representing the Atisbo/Saki-East State Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Health at the Oyo State House of Assembly, commended Governor Makinde’s relentless efforts in transforming the state, particularly through the robust infrastructure development programs that have been implemented across Oyo. According to the lawmaker, the state has witnessed a remarkable turnaround under the leadership of Governor Makinde, with significant progress in road construction, healthcare, education, and other key sectors.
In his statement made available to news men on Monday, Hon. Canada remarked, “Governor Makinde’s vision for Oyo State is clear, and his commitment to building sustainable infrastructure is evident in the numerous projects that are positively impacting our communities. He has performed so well, and if we could have our way, we would have request him to serve another term. His performance in all sectors, no doubt will continue the transformation of Oyo State even at a greater pace. We can expect to see Oyo rise to the level of states in developed countries, and possibly even outperform some.”
The lawmaker highlighted key achievements in the areas of road construction, public transportation, healthcare facilities, and education reforms. He praised the governor for ensuring that development reaches both urban and rural areas, thus improving the living standards of citizens across the state.
“As a lawmaker, I have seen firsthand how the people of Oyo State have benefited from Governor Makinde’s policies,” said Hon. Canada. “His leadership has provided us with much-needed infrastructure, economic growth, and social progress”, he added.
Hon. Wale Canada also addressed the opportunity for a third term, stating, “Governor Makinde has already been re-elected, and his continued leadership will bring even greater progress to the state. Although there are constitutional limits on the number of terms a governor can serve, the possibility of a third term, if allowed, would undoubtedly benefit Oyo State and beyond, considering the extraordinary strides made under Governor Makinde’s leadership. Nevertheless, our priority remains ensuring that the momentum continues with his second term.”
He urged the citizens of Oyo State to support the governor’s future political aspirations, emphasizing that continuity in leadership under Governor Seyi Makinde will enable the state to further reach its full potential.
