To be celebrated, valued, and revered 37 years after one’s passing is a testament to an extraordinary legacy.

Such is the case with the Lekan Salami dynasty, a name that has become synonymous with generosity, leadership, and service in Ibadan.

It’s no surprise that the Adamasingba Stadium, a symbol of sports and unity in Oyo State, bears the name of the late Chief Lekan Salami—a fitting tribute to a man whose contributions to sports, business, and philanthropy remain unmatched.

Chief Lekan Salami was a visionary whose influence extended far beyond the city of Ibadan.

Renowned for his charisma, kindness, and unparalleled commitment to uplifting others, his legacy of giving continues to inspire.

His immense contributions to sports development as a tool for engaging youth, curbing crime, and fostering unity were not only impactful during his lifetime but have also set a blueprint for future leaders.

It’s this same spirit of philanthropy and service that lives on in his son, Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami.

A true reflection of his father, Hon. Salami has become a beacon of hope and support for the less privileged in society.

Over the years, he has provided employment to over 200 individuals in Ibadan North, funded scholarships, awarded small business grants, and supported numerous health and education initiatives.

Most recently, his poverty alleviation program for 462 PDP members across all 12 wards of Ibadan North has been a game-changer.

Beneficiaries of this initiative have described it as unprecedented in the history of the local government.

Yet, for the Lekan Salami family, philanthropy is second nature—a tradition deeply rooted in their DNA, passed down from the late Chief Lekan Salami himself.

As a leader, Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami is not just an individual; he is a movement—a movement of hope, opportunity, and development.

His unwavering dedication to his constituents demonstrates his readiness to take on even greater responsibilities.

Without a doubt, he is poised to make a lasting impact in Ibadan North and beyond.

Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami isn’t just the best man for the job; he is a legacy in motion, a promise of brighter days ahead for his people, and a continuation of the Lekan Salami dynasty’s commitment to service and humanity.
