“I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, an extraordinary leader and one of Nigeria’s most brilliant minds. He stood tall in both academic and political spheres, and his contributions remain etched in the annals of our history. As a mathematician, he inspired generations with his genius. As a politician, he served Oyo State with vision, purpose, and integrity,” Hon. Gbadamosi stated.
He further noted that Dr. Olunloyo’s life was a symbol of excellence, discipline, and public service, emphasizing that his influence went beyond governance into the intellectual and moral development of many Nigerians.
Dr. Victor Olunloyo, a renowned mathematician and public servant, briefly served as the Governor of Oyo State in 1983 during the Second Republic. His administration, though short-lived, is fondly remembered for its intellectual rigor and commitment to progressive ideals.
