Onireke High School, Links Reservation Area, Onireke GRA Ibadan was among the over 300 students from various secondary schools across Oyo State which participated in the concluded and successful Secondary School Basketball Competition hosted by Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resort Akanran Ibadan.
The principal of the school, Mrs Agnes Olaitan Otunla commended the organizers of the basketball competition, Engr (Chief) Dotun Sanusi; the chairman of Ilaji Sports Resort and his team for bringing out the best in students across Oyo State.
Stating that sports competition among schools discourage school students from social vices, makes them responsible using their talents and become global recognitions.
The competition held May 8th – 11th, 2025 has raised the standard of Schools’ Basketball in the state and sparked renewed enthusiasm among students and sports stakeholders as a student of Onireke High School, Olamide Olatunde got laurel of the most valuable player of the tournament while the school, ONIREKE HIGH SCHOOL came first and top of the TOURNAMENT in the Female Category, God’s Blessing Comprehensive College and BeulahLand came second and third respectively.
The winning school team, ONIREKE HIGH SCHOOL were Sanni Aminat, Umar Aminat, Safinu Alimot with coaches; Ajiboye Stephen and AbdulSalam AbdulAzeez Olaitan.
