As Nigeria marks Children’s Day, the lawmaker representing Ibadan Northwest State Constituency at the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Dawood Akanni Olalere, has joined well-meaning Nigerians in celebrating the nation’s children, describing them as “the future and heartbeat of society.”
In a goodwill message released on Tuesday, Dr. Olalere emphasized the crucial role children play in national development and called for renewed commitment to their welfare, education, and protection.
“Our children are the stars of tomorrow. They carry the hopes of a better future and must be nurtured in an environment that fosters growth, safety, and learning,” he said.
The lawmaker also took the opportunity to commend Governor Seyi Makinde for his administration’s continued investment in the welfare of children across Oyo State. He lauded the governor’s efforts in implementing policies that promote quality education and provide support systems through various child-focused initiatives.
“Governor Makinde’s unwavering dedication to child development is evident in the upgraded schools, scholarship schemes, feeding programs, and other interventions that directly impact the lives of our young ones. His leadership is a model worth emulating,” Dr. Olalere stated.
Offering words of encouragement to children, Hon. Olalere urged them to remain focused, disciplined, and hardworking in their pursuit of excellence.
“To every child in Ibadan Northwest, Oyo State, and beyond — know that you are valuable and deeply loved. Stay dedicated to your dreams, be respectful, and never stop striving for greatness,” he added.
