EPL: Manchester United beat Chelsea at Old Trafford

Manchester United defeated Chelsea 2-1 in a thrilling Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Chelsea were reduced to 10 men early in the match when goalkeeper Robert Sánchez received a red card in the fourth minute for a reckless challenge. on Bryan Mbeumo

Manchester United took advantage of the situation, with Bruno Fernandes scoring in the 14th minute and Casemiro doubling the lead in the 37th minute.

Just before halftime, Casemiro was also sent off, leaving both sides with 10 players.

Chelsea pulled one back in the 80th minute through a header by Trevoh Chalobah from a Reece James cross.

Despite dominating possession in the final minutes, Chelsea could not find an equaliser.

The result leaves Manchester United with three crucial points at home, while Chelsea continue their search for a win at Old Trafford.

The result comes as a huge boost for Ruben Amorim’s men who began the season on a weak foot.

Chelsea, on the other hand, suffer their second defeat of the season, after falling behind 3-1 to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League. The defeat also handed them their first premier league defeat of the season.

The result sees Chelsea drop to sixth on the table while United climb up to ninth.
