Ibadan, Nigeria – Oyo State gubernatorial hopeful, Engineer Oyedele Akeem Alao, has charged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the state to embrace unity and total rebranding as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.
The APC stalwart made the call during his ongoing consultation visits to the seven geopolitical zones of Oyo State, where he engaged with party leaders, stakeholders, and grassroots members.
In his remarks, Engr. Alao expressed concern over the setbacks suffered by the party in recent years, stressing that the time had come to rebuild the APC structure and restore confidence among the people.

“Truth can be taunted but not humiliated. It may be delayed, but it will always emerge victorious. What our party needs now is genuine rebranding and total commitment from every stakeholder,” he stated.
He emphasized that rebuilding must begin internally, urging members to strengthen cooperation at ward and local government levels before extending outreach to other segments of society, including traditional rulers, business leaders, academics, and market women.

Engr. Alao cautioned against individualistic leadership, noting that past elections in the state had shown that inclusiveness and collective effort remain the only path to success.

“The 2019 and 2023 elections in Oyo clearly proved that no single individual can deliver victory alone. To return progressives to power in 2027, we must embrace loyalty, dedication, hard work, and cooperation across all zones of the state,” he added.
Beyond party politics, Hon. Alao also urged all APC faithful to allow peace to reign in Oyo State, especially as Ibadan celebrates the ascension of the new Olubadan, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja. He stressed that unity and respect for traditional institutions remain vital in fostering harmony and development across the state.
He reaffirmed his belief in an open-door style of leadership, assuring that with unity and shared vision, the APC can be rebranded into a stronger force capable of delivering good governance to the people of Oyo State.
