The Harrison Alonge Foundation, alongside its French business partners, on Thursday, January 29, 2026, visited the Nike Art Gallery in Lagos as part of their ongoing cultural and institutional tour across Nigeria.
According to a statement released by the Foundation’s Media Coordinator, Comr. Olawale Ogunyebi, the delegation was led by the Chief Executive Officer of the Harrison Alonge Foundation, ,Mr. Harrison Olaniyi Alonge (HOA), and included French partners Mr. Frédéric Bourgault and Madame Karin.
Upon arrival, the visitors were warmly received by a group of local artists who entertained them with traditional songs, while a talking drummer announced their names and offered symbolic greetings in line with local customs.
During the visit, the delegation toured various sections of the gallery, admiring an extensive collection of artworks, including paintings, sculptures, and handwoven textiles created by talented Nigerian artists.
Mr. Alonge, the Ikere-Ekiti-born philanthropist, commended the gallery’s role in preserving Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and promoting indigenous creativity on the global stage. He emphasized the importance of cultural institutions in fostering national identity and supporting the creative economy.
Speaking during the visit, French business representative, Mr. Frédéric Bourgault, encouraged the initiator of the gallery to sustain the vision. He also urged governments at all levels to support young artists through scholarships and interest-free loans for creatives across Nigeria.
Other members of the delegation included Miss Victoria Ojolowo, French Interpreter; Mr. Philip Adegboyega; and security personnel on guard.
The visit concluded with a guided tour of the facility and a group photograph session to commemorate the occasion.
