Oyo State Government has declared the 2024 NYSC Batch B (Stream 1) orientation course open, welcoming corps members posted to the state for their one-year mandatory national service.
Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke, represented Governor Seyi Makinde at the ceremony, congratulating the corps members on their deployment to Oyo State, dubbed “a land of possibilities and endless opportunities”.
In her address, Adegoke reiterated the core essence of the NYSC scheme, promoting national unity and providing a platform for corps members to contribute to the nation’s growth. She also assured the corps members of the state government’s commitment to their welfare and safety throughout their stay.
The Commissioner charged the corps members to join hands with the Makinde-led administration in transforming the state under the sustainable development plan. “Long live Oyo State! Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!” she concluded.
The orientation course, which began today, aims to equip the corps members with necessary skills and knowledge for a successful service year.
