In a bold move to connect with grassroots youth, Honourable Wasilat Adegoke, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, stormed various area Boys locations in Ibadan, communicating Governor Seyi Makinde’s desire to empower and uplift them.
The Commissioner, accompanied by a team of Youth Stakeholders visited notorious hotspots, including Beere, Agugu, and Oremeji, Molete where she interacted with the area Boys, listening to their concerns and aspirations.
Adegoke emphasized Governor Makinde’s commitment to youth development, highlighting initiatives aimed at providing skills acquisition, education, and employment opportunities. She encouraged the Area Boys to embrace these programs, assuring them of the government’s support.
“We recognize your potential and want to channel your energy positively,” Adegoke said. “Governor Makinde is eager to see you thrive and contribute to Oyo State’s growth.”
The Area Boys, initially skeptical, responded enthusiastically, sharing their experiences and ideas. They expressed gratitude for the Commissioner’s willingness to engage with them directly.
