The 2024 International Youth Week celebrations in Oyo State received a spiritual boost as the Grand Imam of Oyo State, Agbotomokekere, led a special prayer session for the youths at the Central Mosque, Oja’ba.
The event, which was organized by the Oyo State Government, brought together young people from diverse backgrounds to seek divine guidance, protection, and blessings.
The Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulganiy Abubakar Agbotomokere, delivered a heartfelt sermon, emphasizing the importance of faith, morality, and patriotism in the lives of youths. He prayed for the youths to be guided by the principles of righteousness, wisdom, and courage, and to become leaders of tomorrow who would uplift the state and the nation. “May our youths be the light of the world, may they be the agents of positive change, and may they always seek to do what is right and just,” the Grand Imam prayed.
The Commissioner, Honourable Wasilat Adegoke prayed for the youths to be guided, protected, and empowered to become leaders of tomorrow. She also prayed for peace, stability, and progress in the state and the nation at large.
The prayer session was attended by representatives from various youth organizations, students, and young professionals. The youths in attendance expressed gratitude for the opportunity to come together and seek divine guidance.
