Oyo state government held the Independence Walk on Thursday, bringing together key stakeholders, including Prof. Adenike Adeyemo, Secretary to the state Government; Dr. Mrs. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, Commissioner for Health; and Dr. Akin Fagbemi, Chairman of the hospital management board.
The event highlighted unity, peace, and progress, essential values for Nigeria’s growth and development. Oyo Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Wasilat Adegoke emphasized the importance of democracy, stating that “even the worst democratic government is better than the best dictatorship” She outlined the vision of Governor Seyi Makinde for Oyo State which focus on creating a physically functional, economically vibrant, socially harmonious, and culturally dynamic society.
Prof. Adenike Adeyemo, Secretary to the state Government opined that the Independence Walk symbolized the collective commitment to Nigeria’s advancement. Participants showed overwhelming enthusiasm and participation, demonstrating the power of unity and collective growth.
