Following back-to-back goalless draws against Nasarawa United and Kano Pillars in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), twin brother of Shooting Stars Chairman, Kehinde Lekan Salami, has appealed to the club’s supporters to remain calm, patient and unwavering in their support of the Oluyole Warriors.
The Ibadan-based side has endured a difficult opening to the campaign, with seven matches played and results falling short of expectations. Shooting Stars currently occupy 13th position on the league table with eight points, while their struggles on the road have now extended into their recent home fixtures.
The situation has understandably generated concerns among the club’s passionate supporters, who have been expecting stronger performances and better results from the Oluyole Warriors.
However, Kehinde Salami has urged the fans not to lose faith, assuring them that the current situation is only a phase and that there is still ample time for the team to turn its fortunes around.
Speaking after the latest goalless draw against Kano Pillars, Salami appealed for patience and continued support, stressing that the league is a marathon rather than a sprint.
He expressed confidence that the team will soon rediscover its winning rhythm, while assuring supporters that efforts are being made to address the present challenges and produce the results the club and its fans desire.
He further urged the supporters to continue believing in the team, emphasising that seven matches do not define an entire league campaign, with plenty of football still to be played and opportunities to climb the table.
With the season still in its early stages, the Oluyole Warriors will now look to turn words into action when they travel to Owerri, Imo State, this weekend for a crucial encounter against Kun Khalifat FC.
