The Chairman of the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA), Busoye Ogunlade, has faulted claims by Abass Oloko that appointees of Governor Seyi Makinde are struggling financially, insisting that their primary responsibility is to serve the public rather than use their positions to enrich themselves.
Ogunlade maintained that political appointments come with the responsibility of contributing to good governance and delivering public service, stressing that government positions should not be viewed as avenues for personal enrichment.
Defending the Makinde administration, the OYSROMA chairman also highlighted its infrastructure projects and commitment to the timely payment of workers’ salaries as evidence of its efforts to improve governance and meet its obligations to the people.
He further criticised individuals who, according to him, expect to benefit personally from government resources, suggesting that some of the criticisms against the administration may stem from disappointed personal expectations rather than genuine concerns about governance.
Ogunlade’s remarks reaffirmed his support for the Makinde administration, emphasising that public officeholders should be assessed based on their contributions to public service and the development of the state rather than their personal financial gains.
