The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), has endorsed the G-100 initiative, a coalition of one hundred opposition leaders, to form a united front against the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC), in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the PDP said the decision was necessitated by the hardship Nigerians are experiencing under the Bola Tinubu-led APC administration and the urgent need to rescue the country.
The party stated that the move aligns with its earlier commitment to collaborate with like-minded political parties and organisations to address the failures of the current government.
According to the PDP National Chairman, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, the party’s participation is based on the assurance that the G-100 process will be guided by transparency, equality, data-driven decisions, and egalitarianism.
“Our participation is anchored on the promise that this process will be hinged on transparency, equality, data-driven decisions and egalitarianism,” Turaki said.
“Any outcome birthed by a process built on these virtues will produce credible leadership capable of alleviating the rising poverty and insecurity in the country.”
The PDP further disclosed that it attended the inaugural meeting of the G-100 held on August 31, 2026, as proof of its commitment to building a credible opposition platform.
According to the party, the goal of the coalition is to take power from the APC and rebuild Nigeria for the benefit of all citizens.
