MOLETE ATTACK: “Stop Chasing Shadows, Present Your Programmes to Oyo People” — APM Tells APC, Accord

It has come to the notice of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) in Oyo State that opposition parties that have no tangible programmes to convince the people of the state to vote for them have resulted to blaming it for any form of attack that happens to them.

The latest of such was the incident that involved the Accord party and it’s members around Molete area of the state capital on Wednesday where some members of the party were said to have been attacked by unidentified persons.

The governorship candidate of the party, Oriyomi Hazmat, was however spotted in a viral video holding a campaign material of one of the candidates of the APM in the forthcoming election, claiming that the material was collected from one of the people that attacked his members.

The APM condemned the move by the Accord party to link it with the alleged attack in order to present the APM in bad light.

We want to express our disappointment in the Accord party and it’s leadership in Oyo State for attempting to draw the APM into an incident that it knew nothing about.

It is a general knowledge in the state that our party has since almost one year moved its secretariat from the vicinity of the alleged incident with the building formerly hosting our state secretariat being occupied by another party.

Also, it is on record that the APM did not organize any electioneering activity around Molete that could have warranted the convergence of our members around the vicinity, therefore our members never gathered in the said area on the day of the alleged incident.

So it is wrong for the Accord party, whose members have since been at loggerheads with one another over its governorship and other tickets to now turn around and be accusing the APM of orchestrating any attacks on it.

As for the All Progressives Congress that also alleged that our members were responsible for the said attack, the entire world now knows that the party is sounding like a broken record and it is bereft of any idea that it can sell to the people, hence it’s resolve to always rush to accuse the APM of violence.

Both the APC and Accord party are however advised to stop chasing shadow and instead be prepared to face the people of the state with the programmes they plan to implement, if they have any at all.

We as a party however want to restate our commitment to the peace of the state and enjoin the people to join hands with Governor Seyi Makinde in his quest to hand over a state that all residents and Indigenes can be proud of.

Signed
