The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has further strengthened its grassroots political structure with the inauguration of the Lagelu Local Government APEX Campaign Council. The inauguration marks a significant step in the party’s commitment to mobilization, effective coordination, and grassroots engagement across Oyo State.
At the inauguration ceremony, respected community leader and political stakeholder, Mogaji (Hon.) Olatoye Olajide “Big Daddy Sugar,” was officially unveiled as the Coordinator of the council. His appointment has been widely welcomed by party members and supporters who describe him as a dedicated leader with a strong passion for community development and progressive politics.
Also inaugurated into key positions within the council were:
- Deputy Coordinator: Baba Gbenro
- Director-General (Women Affairs): Hon. Okewusi
- Director-General (Youth Affairs): Ilelaboye
- Secretary: Dr. Obideji Babatunde
Speaking during the inauguration, party leaders emphasized the importance of unity, commitment, and teamwork in advancing the objectives of the Allied Peoples Movement within Lagelu Local Government and beyond. They charged the newly inaugurated officers to work tirelessly toward strengthening the party’s presence at the grassroots level and ensuring that the aspirations of members and residents are adequately represented.
The Coordinator, Mogaji (Hon.) He noted that the council would focus on grassroots mobilization, membership expansion, youth and women inclusion, and the promotion of good governance.
