The Executive Assistant to the Oyo State Governor on Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA), Mogaji Hon. Olajide Olatoye, popularly known as Big Daddy Sugar, has welcomed members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who recently defected to the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) in Oyo State.
Big daddy stated this while speaking on the political development surrounding the APM and the recent defection of APC members during the Boye Nation/JAF Movement Mega Concert held on Monday at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
He described the movement of the defectors into the APM as a significant development, noting that it reflects the growing interest in the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, the APM remains open to politicians, leaders and supporters who are willing to contribute to the development of Oyo State and Nigeria through a common political platform.
Olatoye congratulated and formally welcomed the new members into the APM, assuring them of equal opportunities and urging them to work together with existing members for the growth and strengthening of the party.
He also called on other political stakeholders and their supporters across Oyo State to consider joining the APM, stressing the importance of unity, cooperation and continuity in advancing good governance.
The Boye Nation/JAF Movement Mega Concert, held under the theme “Young, United and Unstoppable (YUU),” also provided an avenue for the formal reception of APC members and supporters led by Ajiboye Sangogade, popularly known as Boye Nation, into the APM.
Olatoye said the development further underscores the need for stakeholders to remain united and focused as the political landscape evolves ahead of 2027.
